Faces behind Chainbalance - Powerhouse Mauricio Warchaftig

Have you ever wondered how a hobby cook entered the fashion industry? Meet Mauricio, the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) at Chainbalance, whose journey in the fashion industry is as colorful as the runway itself. From a childhood surrounded by a fashion-conscious family to becoming a passionate cook and fitness enthusiast in his free time, Mauricio's story is both inspiring and fun.

The entrance into the fashion industry began with a stylish twist. His mother was a shopping and fashion enthusiast, always on the lookout for the latest trends. The family's frequent visits to the Stackmann in Buxtehude left a lasting impression on young Mauricio. His stepfather, too, had a hand in shaping his fashion destiny, working at the iconic H&M. It really is no surprise that Mauricio chose to work in fashion, right? Maybe for him, it was. Mauricio's first dream job was to be a professional soldier, just like his stepfather. A cruciate ligament rupture disrupted his plan, sadly. But Mauricio found another dream career to pursue.

After high school, Mauricio decided to explore the fashion world further. He sought guidance from his stepfather and embarked on a journey as a department manager assistant candidate at Galeria. It was here that he learned the ropes of the fashion industry, gaining valuable experience that would shape his career.

As Mauricio's passion for fashion grew, so did his thirst for knowledge. He decided to pursue a degree in economics and management at FOM, attending evening classes from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM while working in the industry during the day. This dedication to continuous learning would become a hallmark of his career.

After a stint at Tom Tailor as a Store Manager in Hildesheim, two years at PVH, and a brief detour into eyewear as a Sales Representative at Safilo, he started working on his first IT solution for the fashion industry as Head of Sales at Phizzard. The startup's success led to a successful exit case to one of the largest buying associations in Germany. Never one to rest on his laurels, Mauricio and two working colleagues founded Betafashion. Unfortunately, due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the venture went insolvent. However, Mauricio's resilience and determination would once again prove to be his guiding light.

Today, Mauricio is the CSO at Chainbalance. The past 2 ½ years at Chainbalance were marked by many ups and downs. COVID made it hard in the beginning, Mauricio had not met Ben in person for the first several months, for example, valuable team members left, but for Mauricio, it was also very exciting. Chainbalance made sustainable growth, acquiring five new customers during those hard COVID times against the odds of the market situation. He fondly remembers going to the new Berlin office for the first time on a nice summer day.

His unwavering motivation and passion for change have fueled his success. Mauricio attributes much of his drive to Chainbalance. He especially values the trust, our team of experts, and the fact that we can always challenge each other to be even better.

In his free time, Mauricio is not just a fashion aficionado; he's also a passionate cook. His love for cooking was nurtured by his biological father. Mauricio enjoys the process of cooking and the joy of sharing a delicious meal with others. His go-to dishes include ´spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino´ and ´pulpo ala gallega´, which he learned during his time in Spain.

When he's not immersed in the fashion world or whipping up culinary delights, Mauricio enjoys spending quality time with his wife. They explore Berlin's cultural diversity, attend vernissages, and embark on city trips, always on foot. To balance his busy work life, he indulges in his love for boxing and gym workouts.

Mauricio's journey from a fashion-loving child to a seasoned professional in the industry is a testament to his passion, resilience, and drive for success. His story reminds us that with determination and a little bit of fun, we can carve out our own unique path in any industry.
